About Us

We are dedicated to promoting sustainability through our chemical process development and equipment design services.

Our story

Ecosce was founded in 2018 by Dr. Ahmed Shuja, a visionary with a unique blend of scientific expertise and business acumen. With a background spanning materials science, heat transfer, and electrical engineering, Dr. Shuja recognized the convergence of advanced computing technology, sustainable raw material sourcing, and chemical separation innovations. This insight led to the creation of Ecosce, a company dedicated to developing cutting-edge solutions for resource efficiency. Since its inception, Ecosce has successfully commissioned several commercial plants focused on valorizing waste products and has entered into strategic partnerships, including a joint development agreement with Donaldson Company for recycling solvents in peptide production.

Our mission

At Ecosce, our mission is to revolutionize chemical process development and equipment design with a focus on sustainability. We are committed to addressing the global challenge of energy-intensive purification processes in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries. By leveraging innovative membrane separation technologies and exploring novel applications for resource efficiency, we aim to significantly reduce energy consumption and environmental impact. Our goal is to create value through eco-friendly solutions that transform waste into valuable resources, ultimately contributing to a more sustainable future for industries worldwide.

Meet Ahmed Shuja Ph.d.

Ahmed Shuja possess an unusual mixture of deep scientific background in diverse areas of materials science, heat transfer, electrical engineering and business acumen.

Early in his career he worked on materials science research in companies such as Ethicon Endo Surgery for medical devices. Ahmed’s academic experience includes managing leading edge research in MEMS technology funded by NASA and NSF for semiconductor packaging. Prior to obtaining the PhD in EE, Ahmed founded a semiconductor packaging based cooling company, which lead to his tenure as an Innovator at Siemens.

This position provided hands on training in innovation management and strategic market analysis focusing on commercialization of technology. Subsequently with investments from Siemens he founded BritePointe where he managed product development, IP strategies, competitive patent analyses, and quality engineering. Ahmed has authored over ten patents and created product roadmaps to coincide with econometric studies. Links are provided below that allow for additional information on the chronology of Ahmed’s journey thus far.

Ahmed has assembled pro forma financial models for multiple products/business to evaluate financial viability and IRR. He has become adept at sector mapping and spotting market and technology trends in multiple fields.

At Siemens as an EIR Ahmed analyzed the offshore wind power supply chain to stimulate market adoption by targeting innovations that remove bottlenecks. These types of studies reveal the innovation white space that can generate value through corporate and VC investment.

As Sr. Partner & Cofounder of OGZ Holdings Ahmed is combining his target areas of professional interest including innovation and patent management to provide a structured offering to financial stakeholders that are targeting investments in commercialization typically at the seed or first customer acquisition level.

Ahmed founded Ecosce in 2018 based on work funded by OGZ Holdings related to membrane separations. Since this time the company has commission several commercial plants typically related to valorizing waste products. Most recently a JDA with Donaldson Company to recycle solvents used in peptide production. Ahmed was the principal investigator and secured the first corporate customer for this IP Licensing transaction. Donaldson will scale the resulting technology and pay Ecosce royalties.
